Mission Statement
Through the Joy Technology Institute, a subsidiary of Joy Corporation of Baton Rouge, we are committed to empowering
surrounding communities to improve education levels, gain job-related skills, build personal and community capacity,
and link with other communities by providing a community service, social action, and educational facility where
computers and related communication technologies are available to people who otherwise might have little or no
opportunity to use or learn to use these technologies. We will empower businesses to improve their productivity,
increase their employee morale, and build a better Louisiana through technology training and technology mentoring.
Vision
The Joy Technology Institute will harness and apply the power of technology to a greater extent by acquiring access to a
variety of opportunities that span education, employment, arts, and media and communication. We will continue to
ensure that people are not deprived from such opportunities due to lack of personal resources while at the same time
fostering community development and connectedness.
Responsibilities
The Joy Technology Institute staff is also responsible for managing Joy Corporation's Information Technology needs
which include: Desktop Support; User Training; Data Network Updates/Upgrades; Business Service Solutions; and
Technology Lab Maintenance.
